Samaritan's Heart Ministries

This project presented the opportunity to create meaningful design for a non-profit ministry called Samaritan's Heart Ministries. This design allowed me to pour a lot of intentional thought and heart into the details of a logo design, variations of the logo for application, and an informational pamphlet to be used by this ministry in their outreach.
The Process:

The logo for this organization went through several routes of ideation, drafting, and concepts before landing with this final design. This design is one that contains very meaningful imagery to Samaritan's Heart Ministries' mission and values, from concept to color.

The two hands illustrated at the bottom of the composition represent those working with the ministry - whether that be working directly within the organization, or supporting with finance or prayer, the hands of those people are what support the heart of this ministry.

The central use of blue and red stripes in the heart are reminiscent of the Haitian flag, a country in which Samaritan's Heart Ministries has done a lot of work supporting not only the community at large but also the schools, teachers, and families. The green and blue alternating on the remainder of the stripes on the heart imitate a sort of rudimentary representation of a globe.

The spreads below are the front and back side of a trifold pamphlet that is used by Samaritan's Heart Ministries. The photos used in these designs were taken in a village in Haiti, and give visual representation to the children directly affected by this ministry and its efforts.
